General Project Description
The project consists of 3 sites located in the vicinity of Spout Run Parkway and includes stabilization of the scour and erosion damage at the arch bridge/culverts under eastbound (near the Washington Turn-Around) and westbound (near the GWMP) Spout Run Parkway over Spout Run, and the stabilization of a rock outcrop along northbound GWMP, just south of Spout Run Parkway. Repairs for both structures include repairing the undermining and scour of the abutments and footings, stabilizing the erosion along the abutments, wingwalls, and stream banks, and replacing deteriorated and missing vertical expansion joint filler. Stabilization of the rock outcrop includes rock scaling (removal of loose rock), rock bolts, rock gluing, and installation of horizontal drains.
Traffic Control / Affects to Public:
The Spout Run Parkway will be open to traffic at all times. Lane closures may be necessary for equipment and material access to the work sites. No lane closures will occur during the standard GWMP Rush Hours of 5:30 am to 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Design/Construction Schedule:
This project was awarded on March 31, 2009. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2009. Expected completion is August/September 2009.
